Triethylene Glycol (commonly abbreviated as TEG, CAS No.: 112-27-6) is a linear oligomer of ethylene glycol and an important high-boiling-point polyol. Its most prominent industrial application is as a highly efficient dehydrating agent for industrial gases such as natural gas, refinery gas, and syngas. Through the “TEG Dehydration Unit,” it significantly reduces the water dew point of gases to meet pipeline transmission and subsequent processing requirements, a critical purification step in the oil and gas industry. Due to its high boiling point, low vapor pressure, and strong hygroscopicity, it is also used as a liquid desiccant in air conditioning systems and compressed air systems. In the chemical industry, TEG can serve as an intermediate or reactant in the production of polyurethane elastomers, unsaturated polyester resins, plasticizers, and surfactants. Furthermore, its excellent solvency, low toxicity, and mild properties enable its use in specialty solvents, ink carriers, and cosmetics/personal care products (as a humectant). It has a purity of ≥99.0%, exhibits a light color, and contains low levels of moisture, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, and other impurities, ensuring stable and reliable quality. This product is a combustible liquid with a relatively high flash point; however, it should still be kept away from ignition sources during operation.
